We at Raritan Valley Choral Society are working to make our site raritanvalleychorus.org and our performances accessible to people with disabilities.
Accessibility adjustments on this site
We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:

Accessibility arrangements in the organization
ADA POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. to welcome vocalists, staff, Board members, volunteers, and audience members of all abilities to take part in its programs and activities. The following ADA Plan was approved by the Board of Directors of the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. and is effective as of September 12, 2023. This plan will be reviewed annually and amended and/or updated as needed. A copy of this ADA Plan will be made available to all chorus members, Staff, Board members, and published on the Raritan Valley Chorus, Inc.’s website, and concert accessibility will be made known on posters, concert advertising, and social media accounts. Updates to the ADA Access Plan will be announced to the participants of the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc., if and/or when appropriate.
POLICIES AND MANAGEMENT
1. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If possible, special arrangements will be made on an as-needed basis to ensure that this policy goal is met.
2. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will not discriminate on the basis of disability against individuals who desire to become vocalists, or who are vocalists, Board members, staff, volunteers, and/or other participants in the Raritan Valley Chorus, Inc.’s programs and activities.
3. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will post this ADA Plan on its website and will periodically provide information in public announcements regarding accessibility accommodations of performance venues.
4. All accessibility concerns shall be directed to the Raritan Valley Choral Society Inc.’s Board members via email and/or telephone, said contact information being available on the Raritan Valley Choral Society Inc.’s website.
PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES, AND FACILITIES
1. For general performances, rehearsals and meetings, the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will use spaces that are accessible for people with physical disabilities, taking reasonable consideration of parking, entrances, seating, and restroom areas.
2. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will educate its staff and volunteers on best practices for welcoming and providing hospitality and assistance to persons with disabilities, including, but not limited to, those in wheelchairs, using walkers, using canes, or others with obvious mobility challenges.
3. Upon request within ten (10) days notice of a performance, event and/or activity, the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will use best efforts to make its printed concert programs available in alternative/large print to those who request such accommodation.
4. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. shall provide seating to those performers who are unable to stand for extended periods of time during performances. Such performers may require designated seating and/or placement, which is at the discretion of the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc.
5. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. will make reasonable efforts and use best efforts to assist vocalists who require additional reasonable accommodations to perform, on an as-needed basis and at the Raritan Valley Choral Society Inc.’s discretion.
6. The Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc. shall have available for its use a first-aid emergency kit at performances and rehearsals.
Requests, issues, and suggestions
GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES
This Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA").
The complaint should be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination, such as the name, address, and phone number of the complainant, and the location, date, and description of the problem. The complaint should be submitted as soon as possible but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation to:

Within 21 calendar days after receipt of the complaint, the ADA Coordinator will meet with the complainant to discuss the complaint and possible resolutions. If a resolution cannot be reached, the ADA coordinator will bring the issue to the Raritan Valley Choral Society, Inc.’s Board of Directors.
